St. Nicholas is remembered for his gift-giving and aiding those in need. At Marin Catholic, economic hardship is very real for some of our Wildcats. Family medical emergencies, job loss, housing costs in Marin County, or complex household circumstances can leave students without adequate funding in their lunch accounts.
We know that hunger directly impacts working memory, focus, and test scores. The St. Nicholas Fund helps to ensure that students who need breakfast and/or lunch can have these vital meals. Funding the accounts of students in need ensures not only good nutrician, but also alleviates the social stigma of going without, and lunchtime becomes a time for food and friendship.
All gifts to the St. Nicholas Fund are fully tax-deductible.
